Bringing You News From the Heart of Lawrence

Seasoned television personality Neal Moore (left) and former Executive Director of the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Sandi Ballard (right) have teamed up to launch atLawrence.com.

atLawrence.com is the newest member of the TownePost family to officially launch as a significant voice for news, events and people from the Lawrence community and for that community.

“It’s a reflection of the energy and momentum that the TownePost family has,” said atLawrence.com staff member Neal Moore. “And further evidence of what really matters today: it’s micro journalism.”

He explained that because of the Web, individuals are increasingly able to sort through the content that’s out there and choose for themselves what they want to learn and read about, and people living in a community naturally want to know what’s going on within its boundaries.

A seasoned journalist, TV news reporter and anchor with more than three decades of experience, Moore is taking responsibility for the editorial content for the atLawrence.com site and related print articles.

“My responsibilities are to be the ears and eyes of the community — to know what people are talking about, what information they’ll find useful, what is interesting to them and to assist people in uploading their own content,” he said. “If there’s a budding author out there who wants to upload content, we encourage that.”

Sandi Ballard, who has extensive experience in marketing, public relations, development and sales, and is responsible for the business side of the site, is equally excited about atLawrence.com’s endeavor to be an asset to members of the community.

“With Lawrence being its own city, we feel it needs something more local for news,” Ballard said. “Stories about real people – people you may know or may run across in the community.”

“This is such a great small town with incredible history and growth potential. My hope is that this publication and website will be an avenue for the residents to feel and be connected,” she said. “To create opportunity for awareness and growth of the local businesses, and to really allow them to feel like they are part of the community and be proud, as we have heard many times, to ‘live, work and play’ here.”

AtLawrence.com is working closely with the Partnership for Lawrence, an Indiana nonprofit 501c3, with the mission to bring awareness to and promote the arts within Lawrence Township. In fact, atLawrence.com has an office at the Lawrence Art Center at 4437 N. Franklin Road, where Moore is one of the resident artists and will be teaching classes open to the public on subjects such as writing and video production.

Moore is a Lawrence resident himself, and said, “We have a sense of obligation to serve the community we live in. I like knowing I can be helpful to the community in some way, and make sure they’re informed about community issues and events.”

And Lawrence residents will like knowing that atLawrence.com is their personal go-to source for all that is hot and happening in their community.

If you would like to share information on an exciting Lawrence event, an individual making strides in the community, have another community newsworthy tip, or you’re interested in advertising where you live and work, feel free to contact Moore or Ballard by clicking on the Contact button on the atLawrence.com website or calling 317 891 4437.
