Mike Thatcher, owner of Thatcher Detailing in Plymouth, says he started his auto detailing business to be closer to home.
We started Thatcher Detailing in February of 2020, Thatcher says. We started out of our home in Rochester. Before Thatcher Detailing was started, I worked for a flagging crew for road work.
Thatchers continuous time on the road, working for a flagging company in Ohio, inspired him to start his own business.
I was working 80 to 90 hours a week, he says. I spent two years traveling a lot for the flagging company. It was just crazy. I was ready to start a business where I could be closer to home. I was really tired of just traveling around all the time and staying in hotels. That can get old.
Thatcher has worked very hard to offer various types of detailing, and he says Thatcher Detailing is the premier auto detailing company in the area.
I have worked a lot over the years learning how to do detailing work, Thatcher says. I have worked at fiberglass companies, and that really helped me learn how to do more different types of work. We are a true one-stop shop.
Thatcher notes that he is able to provide his customers with high-quality work that will make them want to hire him again.
We offer inside and out detailing, window tint, vinyl wraps and other work, Thatcher says. You can get a complete vehicle vinyl wrap, and change your car or truck to the color you love at a low price you wont find anywhere else. You can travel in style in a freshly detailed car. We specialize in auto, RV, boat and motorcycle detailing.
Thatcher says changing the color of a car is no problem for Thatcher Detailing.
We can wrap any vehicle to change the color or design, Thatcher says. We also do any minor mechanic work, some major work, and anything in between. If you travel a lot, all that driving can take a hard toll on your car. There are a lot of people in this area that really do a lot of traveling. You want to get some high-quality detailing work done to make your vehicle look good. We can also do some work on your houses and trailers. Thats another area where we will do some great detailing work.
Thatcher says Thatcher Detailing has customers in several counties who enjoy his work.
We serve Marshall, Fulton, Kosciusko, Starke and the surrounding counties, Thatcher says.
High-quality fleet services are also offered at Thatcher Detailing, and window tinting and undercoating are their specialties.
Our window tint is our most popular service, Thatcher says. We get a lot of calls for that.
Thatcher also offers collision services and rust restoration. Decals are also offered.

Thatcher and his staff have enjoyed getting to know many of their customers since they started.
We love and appreciate all of our customers, Thatcher says. We have loved getting to know so many different people. The families around here are outstanding. We want to thank all of our customers who made this an amazing, exciting year like no other. We had some customers that made the year fun and exciting. It was a great experience. I think people like that we are family owned and operated.
Thatcher also takes care of his customers and community. He hosted a community cookout in September of 2020 with pulled pork, hot dogs and hamburgers. It was very popular, and the Plymouth community enjoyed some delicious food.
Thatcher says he is extremely grateful for all of the help he has received from family and friends.
