Burger Concept Blends Classic and Distinctive Culinary Elements

Have you been on the hunt for classic American eats? One Trick Pony, located inside the Sun King location in Broad Ripple, is just for you. Located just east of the Monon Trail on Broad Ripple Avenue, One Trick Pony provides a fast, affordable, family-friendly space to enjoy classic burgers and delicious beer.
Neal Brown started One Trick Pony at the Fishers Test Kitchen last year, and has since then created a strong relationship with Sun King Brewing. When the kitchen opened at Sun Kings newest location in Broad Ripple, Brown sought out a partnership to deepen that relationship. It was a great alignment for both companies, both of which have a family-friendly perspective.
One Trick Pony offers a new experience for customers, providing a full dining service at the Sun King facility.
We work as an integrated team, and the partnership could not be more perfect, Brown says.
Youll find classic burgers, fries and onion rings, and the eatery also offers brunch. The Brunch Tray is only available on Saturday and Sunday for dine-in, and is a well-kept secret for local customers.
Its a tongue-in-cheek continental breakfast, Brown says of the Brunch Tray, which includes items like banana pudding, donuts glazed in Sun King porter topped with Smoking Goose bacon, and cereal.
As a devoted dad, opening a restaurant with a family-friendly menu came easy for Brown, especially with the advice of his 14-year-old son Greyson.
He loves burgers, Brown says, adding that Greyson is the official One Trick Pony food critic, and his favorite burger is the Old John, a diner-style burger with cheese, shredded lettuce, onion, tomato, pick, mayo and mustard.
Also be sure to check out the Gospel Plow, loaded with caramelized onions, Funyuns and ranch. A vegetarian burger is also available, and most everyone can find something to love at One Trick Pony.
Their classic burger is loaded with pickles, and Brown describes the eatery as a pickle-forward company. Brown tasted more than two dozen pickles trying to find the perfect one for their burgers.
You can also participate in their pickle toss competition on the Monon Trail.
I wanted a way to connect with the community, Brown says of the pickle toss.

While creating the menu, Brown endeavored to ensure that every item was thoughtfully curated without being fancy. He works with Fischer Farms to offer high-quality patties. Brown has mastered a classic eats approach with a unique perspective, and he describes his concept as common food approached in an uncommon way.
