Communication is an integral piece of everyday human interaction. When communicating with others is a challenge, many people turn to speech therapy. Just as each individual is different, so are speech therapy needs. Individualized Therapy Solutions, owned by Alyssa Jones, M.S., CCC-SLP, offers customized therapy for a wide range of speech-language issues.
“There can often be a disconnect between speech-language therapy at a hospital, school or outpatient facility and the home environment,” Jones says. “Once people get back into their home environment, it’s hard to carry over those skills into their everyday lives, where communication is most important.”
The disconnect can cause delays in a client’s progress.
“The family then becomes concerned for the loved one because they aren’t progressing,” Jones says. “It can be very discouraging for the individual and the family.”
That’s where Individualized Therapy Solutions is different.
“I offer all my services either in the patient’s home or online via teletherapy,” says Jones, a licensed speech-language pathologist. “This makes it convenient for families, and the speech-language skills and strategies are learned right where they’re needed most – in their everyday environment.”
Jones provides a free initial consultation, followed by a thorough evaluation of the client’s skills, wants, needs, interests and experiences.
“I create an individualized treatment plan to incorporate the unique wants, needs, and interests of the client and family, and the areas of speech and language that need improvement,” Jones says. “This creates a personalized plan toward success.”
Jones collaborates with other professionals that the client is already seeing, so everyone works toward the same goal.
“I serve both children and adults who need help with speech and language,” Jones says. “That involves articulation, language development, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, executive functioning, cognitive communication and social communication.”
Jones’ approach includes determining ways that the client’s family can assist in meeting their goals.
“I offer family coaching to guide them in the process of helping their loved ones succeed,” Jones says.
“Camps involve arts and crafts, music, story time, sensory activities, movement activities, and functional play indoors and outdoors,” Jones says. “Camps are offered both online and in-person with COVID protocols in mind. The online camps are available for all Indiana residents, and in-person camps are local to Fishers.”
Jones’ in-home services are for Hamilton County residents, and her online services are open to all Indiana residents. For more information, call 317-537-7698 or visit them online at individualizedtherapysolutions.com.
