Jo Ann Davis, owner of Eclectic Me, says the name of her business reflects the wide variety of merchandise offered at her store.Eclectic Me

“As a longtime artist, my dream was always to have a business that offered a lot of items that reflected all of the different things I love and also enjoy making,” Davis says. “I always had an interest in doing this.”

Eclectic Me has a strong following in the Kokomo community.

“I started the business in 2003 and was able to build it up by offering gathered items,” Davis says. “We offer vintage and new items for the home. People have always like the items that I offer.”

Eclectic Me also sells jewelry, boutique clothing, art and repurposed items.

“I’ve had booths at the Original Treasure Mart for a long time and I’ve been able to get a strong following of loyal customers,” Davis says.

In 2021 Davis decided it was time to reopen her Eclectic Me brick-and-mortar shop.

“I bought the building for Eclectic Me in February 2021, and spent eight months renovating it,” Davis says. “I officially opened the doors in October 2021. This is a wonderful building that was built in 1860. There are a lot of great features.”

Davis credits the loyalty of her customers as the reason Eclectic Me has grown through the years.

Eclectic Me“I try to offer people a lot to choose from,” she says. “Eclectic Me offers boutique clothing and gathered items. We also offer an occasional class, whether it be wreath making, painting or jewelry making. I am trying to get those lined up. Information is always available on our website or social media. A lot of customers have told me they appreciate the variety.”

Her handmade jewelry has been very popular.

“My customers appreciate the unique pieces I offer with jewelry, as some of them are one of a kind,” Davis says. “I have cha-cha bracelets and necklaces, silver ball chains, adaptable chains, crystal and long pearl necklaces, as well as other types of necklaces. I also have a variety of pendants. A lot of handmade jewelry, really.”

Davis also enjoys art and making things.

“I make hand-painted journals that people have enjoyed,” Davis says. “I also like to repurpose things such as bed frames and turn them into art or other items. I am always on the lookout for unique pieces to repurpose. My wheels are always turning to come up with new ideas. My customers love that I offer one-of-a-kind merchandise.”

Davis also takes her merchandise from Eclectic Me out and about to various markets, where she makes regular appearances.

“We decided to remodel a cute little vintage camper in 2020, and continue to take our show on the road,” Davis says. “We have a good following at the markets.”

Eclectic Me’s upcoming market appearances include the Hunt & Gather Market in Crown Point on October 15 and

16, and again on December 8 and 9, as well as the Chandelier Barn Market in Montgomery on November 11 and 12.

“I love seeing old friends at the markets and meeting new ones,” Davis says. “Having the brick-and-mortar Eclectic Me hasenabled me to expand the business so people have even more to choose from. I have a lot of return customers but would love to meet new ones.”
