Crumbl CookiesWhen Crumbl Cookies opened on January 14, people were lined up all the way down the street to be the first customers.

For the next four days, customers swamped the new business to try the store’s unique and delicious cookies.

Tyson Barrett, co-owner of the 1,300-square-foot shop, said it was a nice problem to have.

“We sold 26,000 cookies in four days,” Barrett says. “It was crazy busy, but it was also wonderful. I loved it. There was a lot of excitement and anticipation from people before we opened. I enjoyed it when we saw people lined up out the door on opening day. That’s a great feeling.”

Barrett, a franchisee of Crumbl Cookies who co-owns the business with his brother, Chad Barrett, says curbside pickup, takeout and delivery business has also been strong.

“People have responded to our cookies because they are so hot and fresh,” he says. “Crumbl Cookies is really becoming popular as a chain. We are really expanding. There has been a lot of positive growth. This is our first Indiana store. Crumbl Cookies is based in Utah, and the fresh-baked cookies have taken off since the business started. We have over 140 locations nationwide. It’s a great franchise.”

The franchise was started by cousins Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan. They opened their first Crumbl Cookies in Logan, Utah.

Barrett believes the store’s unique, rotating menu and delicious cookie-of-the-day offerings have made them very popular.

Crumbl Cookies“We are located in the Fishers Town Center, which gets a lot of traffic,” Barrett says. “People have told us they love the different cookies, and are planning to come back. A lot of families have come in. We have a good cookie menu that rotates weekly. You can get four different specialty flavors, and we have different kinds of cookies. Our cookies are also about 4.5” in diameter. People have told us they really like the variety. We also have our popular trademark cookies, which are Milk Chocolate Chip and a Chilled Sugar cookie. They are always here.”

Crumbl Cookies also offers ice cream in half-pint containers.

“We have been selling a lot of ice cream too,” Barrett adds. “We have flavors like Chocolate Cake, Lemon Poppyseed, S’mores, Buckeye Brownie, Salted Caramel, Cookies and Cream, and Raspberry Cheesecake. We have had a lot of business for that as well, which is a nice way to get things started.”

Barrett has big plans for Crumbl Cookies.

“We are going to have a store at 3329 East 86th Street in the Keystone Shoppes, near Keystone at the Crossing, that we are very excited about,” he says. “We are also going to have stores in Greenwood, Carmel and Zionsville. We are planning more stores as well. Things are really taking off.”
