AirTite InsulationWith early fall settling in, it’s time to make sure your home is properly insulated for the cold days and nights ahead.

AirTite Insulation in Goshen will ensure that you get through the cold months.

The company is under new ownership. Reed Martin and Jared Yoder are the new owners as of February 1, 2022.

AirTite Insulation began in 1999 and has always been locally owned.

“I have been in the RV industry for over 20 years,” Reed Martin says. “I previously worked for Rockwood RV in Millersburg, managing the sidewall weld shop. I believe the leadership at Rockwood and my experience in management prepared me for this opportunity.”

Martin’s longtime friend also owns an insulation business and influenced him to get into the insulation industry.

“You could say this is where it all started,” Martin says. “I began understanding the insulation business and the different types of insulation there are. I started learning more about the industry and began researching insulation ratings, air flow, proper amounts of insulation, fire resistance and noise levels, to name a few things.”

Martin is a local family man with his wife Leanna and their two kids, Hannah and Evan. He planted roots in Shipshewana more than two decades ago.

Jared Yoder grew up in the insulation business, and is a lifelong resident of Shipshewana. He began his working career in construction trades before moving into the RV industry.

“Jared came alongside as a partner in this endeavor after working in the RV industry for four years,” Martin says. “His knowledge and expertise in insulation application results in a comfortable living or working space.”

AirTite InsulationAirTite Insulation has had a strong reputation for excellence since it began in Middlebury. The original owner operated AirTite Insulation for several years before selling it to Miller Corporation. Martin and Yoder purchased it from Miller Corporation. “It’s always been in northern Indiana,” Martin says.

Customers and contractors have been happy with AirTite because the company’s employees believe in quality products and customer service.

“Insulation is one of those things that you don’t think about how important it is until you receive your monthly utility bills,” Martin says. “It’s a hidden need that is important to get right the first time. We are your certified installers of a product called Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation.”

Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation makes efficient use of natural resources. According to independent university and lab studies, buildings insulated with cellulose insulation are heated and cooled more efficiently, using up to 40% less energy than fiberglass-insulated buildings. The Nu-Wool product is made of 86% recycled paper, making it one of the greenest insulation products available. It is free of chemicals or toxins, and has superior sound control.

AirTite Insulation has six full-time employees. “No project is too small or big for AirTite Insulation,” Martin says. “Customers are satisfied because we are determined to provide the best service possible. We understand the frustration when you don’t receive a call back. We provide customers with the best premium insulation and superior customer service. It’s a simple concept. The Nu-Wool company has been green since 1949. They convert recycled paper to the insulation used in the walls and attics of homes and commercial buildings. Recycling paper reduces the number of trees used to produce new paper. In an average-sized new home, the equivalent is 39 trees.”

With its superior thermal and air infiltration properties, Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation is installed in both the attics and walls of residential and commercial buildings.

“This environmentally friendly, green insulation provides savings on energy bills and provides a quiet, comfortable, draft-free home,” Martin says. “Simply put, Nu-Wool is the ideal choice for your home or business.”

Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation is one of the few construction materials used in houses that is treated for fire resistance. Because of its fire resistance, it stops or slows the spread of fire in attics and wall cavities. Plus, the fire retardants used in Nu-Wool insulation products last for the life of the structure.

The staff members at AirTite Insulation also follow an exact process when they apply insulation.

AirTite Insulation“There is a prep process that involves installing air chutes, caulking and foaming, and checking for any areas that will need to be sealed,” Martin says. “We then install Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation or spray foam – whichever you prefer. The finished product is a sealed home or business, keeping your heating and cooling bills down.”

AirTite Insulation was named Top Dealer for Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation for several consecutive years.

“‘Sealed Satisfaction’ is the tagline, but it’s truly what we do,” Martin says. “A home that is sealed properly will not only provide noise reduction. It is energy efficient and more comfortable.”

AirTite Insulation is a full-service insulation provider.

“We offer Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation, spray foam, firewalls and batt insulation,” Martin says. “We strive to stay current with trends in construction and provide exceptional products.”

AirTite Insulation also provides firewalls. Nu-Wool Company, Inc. developed a product called WALLSEAL Fire and Sound Insulation, specifically for use in U382 Firewall assembly.

“We install what is called U382 Firewall, a proprietary design of Nu-Wool Company, Inc., that is fully load-bearing, and offers two and a half to three hours of protection that costs less and saves more,” Martin says. “WALLSEAL Fire and Sound Insulation is light green in color, and has the same superior thermal and sound-control properties of Nu-Wool Premium Cellulose Insulation. We recently installed a U382 Firewall using the WALLSEAL product for a business in Hobart, Indiana.”
