Online Education Program Now Available

Lawrence Township’s Community Education Program is now offering a wide range of highly-interactive online courses that can be taken entirely over the Internet. Over 250 courses are being offered and they cover a wide range of topics, including basic computer skills, workforce computer applications, healthcare continuing education, business administration, grant writing and non-profit management, languages, test prep, and numerous other courses. The courses are taught by experts in the field, many of whom are nationally recognized authors. Courses begin on the third Wednesday of each month and run for six weeks. Students will be given access to two lessons per week but lessons can be taken according to the individual’s schedule, which is the huge advantage of an online course.

Community Education Director, Kim Olive, reports that the online courses appeal to all ages and people with vastly differing needs, in the community. “We currently have two 80 year olds taking keyboarding. We have also enrolled many individuals who are taking online courses to facilitate a career change or to simply update computer skills”, said Olive.

A list of all classes offered and detailed information about the online program can be obtained at www.takeclassesonline.com. Individuals may also call Lawrence Township’s Community Education office, 317-423-8290 to gain information about the program.
