One Year Anniversary of loss of principal Susan Jordan

January 26, 2017 marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic loss of Amy Beverland principal, Mrs. Susan Jordan. Mrs. Jordan was killed tragically on January 26th, 2016, when she sacrificed her own life to preserve that of her students.

Mrs. Jordan’s family and the Amy Beverland community have elected for the anniversary to be a private matter, with internal observance and recognition. There will not be any public ceremony, and the campus will be closed to the media, as neither the district nor school personnel will be making public comment. With support of Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb, district facilities will be flying the flag at half-mast on this day as a symbol of solidarity in the Lawrence Township community.

In an ongoing attempt to heal and move forward, the MSD of Lawrence Township and Amy Beverland community appreciate the public respecting the privacy and feelings of Mrs. Jordan’s family, school community, and friends on this difficult day.
