Lions Club donates $75,000 to HSEF Endowment Campaign

On July 10 the HSE Schools Foundation (HSEF) gratefully hosted an appreciation luncheon for the Fishers Lions Club, which recently donated $75,000 to the HSEF Endowment Fund Campaign. Established in 1959, the local service club is dissolving because of declining membership, but now their legacy will live on. As a result of this donation, Endowment Fund Campaign Director Paula Peterson said the Fisher Lions Club eyeglass program that provides eye exams and glasses for HSE students who cannot afford them will be continued by the Foundation for at least five years and hopefully forever.

The Endowment Fund is a permanent investment that will provide ongoing income for the Foundation to increase student scholarships and teacher grants and eventually help with other needs of the school system. HSE Schools Foundation Endowment Fund Campaign also recently received $5,000 from the Fishers Rotary Club and $1,000 from the Fishers Sertoma Club. The Campaign goal is to raise $1 million in pledges by the end of 2007. Gifts of any size from individuals, organizations and businesses are welcome.
