HSE athlete Abby Taylor is far from ordinary. Despite only being a freshman, she has already made the Varsity Girls Swim Team and the Varsity Softball Team while juggling her first year of high school and being a class officer.
Taylor began playing numerous sports at a young age but decided to pursue swimming and softball in high school.
“The people that I have swam with and played softball with really helped me to make my decision to stay in those sports. They are all amazing, and we are really close,” said Taylor. “All the girls are so great, and the seniors are role models to me.”
Along with already making a big impression in athletics, Taylor also holds a 3.9 grade point average and is the director of community service for the freshman class.
“[Managing sports and school] is difficult, but I think being an athlete teaches me time management as well as life skills,” said Taylor.
Taylor recently completed her first season on the swim team and is in the middle of her softball season. Already, she is looking forward to her next three years at HSE.
“I just want to get better overall, learn and enjoy the new experiences.”
The HSE Mascot Monthly Scholarship Athlete of the Month is sponsored by Chef Suzanne who will deliver a catered meal and plaque to the Taylor family during the month of May. Great work, Abby!
