More in Common Than You Think: The Bridge Between Islam and Christianity

Description: Learning about other faiths, and the common ground we share, is an important start in alleviating misunderstandings and mistrust. Come explore Islam and discover the themes, values and traditions it has in common with Christianity. Issues to be discussed include: basic teachings of the Islamic tradition; the place of Mary and Jesus in the Quran; who Muhammad is; women’s rights in Islam; and common media terminology, such as ‘Jihad’, ‘Holy war’, ‘Infidels’, and ‘Islamic terrorists’. Registration for the free program is requested but is not required.
