Writer  /  Demi Lawrence

2Hamilton Southeastern High School Royal Command and Guard Marching Band will be hosting an Invitational September 24, starting at 3 p.m. With up to 30 schools from around the state attending, this Invitational is also open for the public to view as the schools compete in the Mid- States Band Association competition. Each band will give a performance lasting upwards of 15 minutes and will be judged and awarded on areas of music, general effect and visual performance.

Not only do the students get to watch some of the best high school bands and observe exemplary levels of music and performance, but the directors have the chance to receive feedback from highly experienced judges. The bands as a whole get the chance to show their improvement upon constructive feedback and gain experience in performing overall. Once all the bands have performed, the night will conclude with an awards ceremony.

“We are celebrating our 10th anniversary for the HSE Royal Command and Guard Royal Invitational. We proudly represent our school and the pursuit of music performance excellence. As the host school, we will be performing ‘Shine’ at the end of the evening for a non-judged performance,” explained HSE Band Director of Bands, Mr. Niemiec.

HSE Royal Command and Guard welcomes new band director, Mrs. Audrey Torres. With 12 years of experience, Mrs. Torres comes to HSE from Franklin Central High School where she was Director of Bands as well.
