The Flats at Fishers Marketplace serves up luxury, convenience and community

It’s no secret that Fishers has been highlighted as one of the nation’s most attractive, most livable communities. With population numbers nearly doubling between 2000 and 2010, the town has welcomed young professionals, families and even retirees. Its rich culture, exceptional schools and booming economy have brought together work and play in a way that most communities only dream of.

Taking those qualities into consideration, The Flats at Fishers Marketplace promises to bring everything you could possibly want into a 17.76-acre area. With a completion date set for August, the Flats will consist of four 3-story apartment buildings with 306 units and a state-of-the-art clubhouse at the heart of the Fishers Marketplace project. Located on 131st Street between Indiana 37 and Cumberland Road, the Fishers Marketplace project encompasses 105 acres of new development, including businesses such as City Barbeque, Bagger Dave’s, Which Wich, Lake City Bank, Zaxby’s, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen and Fancy Nails.

“Ackermann Group believes Fishers, Indiana is one of the most exciting communities in the Midwest. Its community values, sense of balance, and leadership make it a town we want to be a part of. We feel very lucky and proud to associate our business with Fishers and look forward to becoming a positive part of the community,” said Dobbs Ackermann, CEO of Ackermann Group, the property’s developer and manager.

The Flats was designed with today’s renter in mind. Young professionals ages 20 to 34 are often looking for extended living space with “less commitment and more flexibility.” Ginger Collins, Vice President of Residential Services with the Ackermann Group, said, “The Flats will provide the comfort of luxurious amenities in your own back yard, from sharing a drink at the fire pit, to playing bocce ball with friends, to grilling out by the scenic pond. All of this comes with maintenance-free living, plus the conveniences of shopping, banking, dining and entertainment within walking distance.”

Apartments are ideal, but they often lack amenities such as outdoor entertaining spaces, which will be abundant at The Flats. Residents will enjoy a pool deck complete with a sound system, picnic area, bike storage, and private garages. For the fitness enthusiast, The Flats offers a fitness center with 15 pieces of equipment and a yoga studio. The Clubhouse serves up a coffee bar, game tables, double-sided fireplace with lounge and business center.

In addition to the luxuries offered on the grounds of the Flats, each unit boasts well-appointed, modern floor plans and amenities. The apartments feature 9-foot ceilings, deluxe kitchens with glass-top ranges, granite countertops and custom cabinetry and hardware. Floors are complete with faux-wood laminate and carpet.

Bathrooms feature garden tubs. And there is even room left for walk-in closets and washer and dryer hookups. Apartment layouts include studio-sized units starting at $763 a month up to a three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit for $1,325 a month. Pets are also welcome and were included in the planning.

Providing a community feel for residents is almost equal to the Ackermann Group’s desire to become part of the Fishers community. They recently joined the Fishers Chamber of Commerce. Collins said the company is already looking for opportunities to support the community through charity events, entertainment and the arts. After all, those were the qualities that attracted Ackermann Group to Fishers in the first place.

Collins said the Ackermann Group recognized Fisher’s convenience factor. Since Interstate-69 is easy to access from The Flats, professionals who don’t work in Fishers will find their work commute easier than most.

Serving more than three generations, the Ackermann Group is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a real estate company that focuses on combining quality of lifestyle with urban revitalization through commercial and residential development, management and investment. The group has invested in properties in Columbus and Cincinnati Ohio, Indianapolis and Northern Kentucky.
