Community Health LogoCommunity Health Network has been selected as an inductee into the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame Class of 2012, by the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame. Community was recognized in the category of Innovative Provider Network and will accept the award November 13, during the 16th Annual Greystone.Net Healthcare Internet Conference in Las Vegas. The Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame is an independent organization whose annual inductees are selected by a board of judges.  The company honors men, women and organizations that have made outstanding, long-lasting contributions to the healthcare Internet industry.

“Community is honored to receive this recognition in the company of such an esteemed group of fellow inductees,” said Dan Rench, vice president of eBusiness at Community Health Network. “We have been laser-focused and passionate about the efficiencies and innovations that the Internet provides to healthcare. We have consistently made it a strategic priority to innovate and achieve so much over the last decade in the healthcare Internet arena—and we are fortunate to have such a talented eBusiness team and forward-thinking leadership support.”

Criteria for being selected to the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame include individuals or organizations that have:

  • Made numerous, lasting and significant  contributions to the healthcare Internet field at a local, state or national level
  • Assumed a leadership position in the healthcare industry beyond the organization in which they are/were employed
  • Served as a role model or mentor to others in the healthcare Internet industry
  • Shown the ability or influence to effect change in the industry
  • Been engaged in the field of healthcare Internet for at least 5 years

Community was nominated for the award by Neal Linkon, assistant director of internet marketing at Northwestern Mutual and a judge of the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame. According to Linkon, “When I think Hall of Fame, I think of trailblazers. Who was out there trying some things that were unheard of at the time, but which are increasingly common today? I immediately thought of Community Health Network. The myCommunity portal was ahead of its time and continues to be a standard that others in healthcare measure their patient portals against.”

Community Health Network has demonstrated over a decade of commitment to the use of Internet technologies and the virtual domain to meet and exceed healthcare consumer expectations. The network’s eBusiness team was established in 2000. The rapid-cycle digital group brought together the skills of web design, digital video, web content, digital marketing and web application development. Nationally, the team has commanded a leading role in the Internet space and has achieved many “firsts” using Internet technologies for innovative user experiences.
