From Mayor Mark W. Myers, “after numerous interviews of many well qualified candidates, I am proud to announce that Rob Taggart has been selected as the new Executive Director for the City of Greenwood.” The Parks Board voted to confirm this appointment unanimously, with many words of support.
Taggart has worked in the Parks Department for four years, initially hired as a Landscape Design Supervisor, and was promoted to Director of Parks in 2010. He has served as the Interim Director since the retirement of Evan Springer. Mayor Myers said, “His vast experience in our parks is an asset to the City. He has definitely hit the ground running. Rob has a vision to develop and enhance the parks mission of the highest quality of park and recreation services, delivered in a professional and friendly manner. He emulates that mission; always smiling, always helpful, and energetic. This is another piece toward taking our parks to the next level.”
