Zach-Hahn_WebFormer Butler University basketball player and Indiana All-Star Zach Hahn is the new head varsity boys basketball coach for Center Grove High School (CGHS).

Hahn spent the last three years as a varsity assistant coach for Ben Davis High School. He graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical & Health Education. He served as captain of Butler’s men’s basketball team and helped lead them to two national runner-up season titles. Hahn is also a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School where he helped lead their basketball team to a state championship in 2006 and served as captain of the Indiana All Star team in 2007.

“I’ve been preparing for this for not just the last three years, but for the last 11 years,” said Hahn. “I feel like this was the time for me and Center Grove was the absolute best place.”

“I am extremely proud for the Center Grove School Corporation to be the place that jump starts Zach Hahn’s career as a Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in the state of Indiana,” said Jon Zwitt, CGHS Athletic Director. “Confidence is high and expectations even higher that Zach will bring the same level of intensity and proficiency that he exhibited as a player on the hardwood. Zach is one of the most polished, articulate and confident 25 year olds that I have had the pleasure to meet. His maturity is well beyond his years. I look forward to Zach having an instant impact on our high school student-athletes, as well as our elementary and Middle School programs. We welcome Zach with  open arms and look forward to many years of success.”

Brad Stevens, Former Butler University Head Coach and Current Boston Celtics Head Coach, describes Zach as an incredibly bright young man, with an uncanny ability to raise the energy level in the room. “His impact on our program was immeasurable because he exhibited the qualities of an ideal teammate every single day,” said Stevens. “Zach was passionate about preparing, selfless in his approach, thankful for every opportunity, accountable for his results and committed to serving
others. As a result, he left Butler University as a high honors student, a four-time conference champion and one of its all-time winningest players.”

Hahn and his wife Lindsey live in Greenwood.
