CGHS Early College Has Saved Parents More Than $500,000

The Center Grove High School Early College program is accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year. Center Grove Early College (EC) is a small learning community that includes 100-120 students per grade level. Students can earn 30-60 college credits while completing their high school education.

For the 2013-14 school year, 15 EC students are on track to graduate with an associate’s degree. Thirty students are on track to have completed 30 hours of transfer credits to any state university.

Since its inception, the Early College program has saved Center Grove parents more than $500,000 in college tuition. EC classes cost $50-$300 each. An EC student who earns 60 college credits will spend $2,000-$3,000. As of 2012, 60 credit hours at IUPUI and Ball State University cost approximately $16,000.

Selection is based on a student’s reading level, grades, and recommendations. Informational meetings are scheduled for this week. For more information, contact Stacy Conrad, Communication Specialist, at conrads@centergrove.k12.in.us or 317.881.9326, Ext. 1641.
