Center Grove Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees are seeking interested residents to fill the board vacancy created by the death of Dr. Susan Mullendore. Superintendent Richard Arkanoff invites residents of the Center Grove Community School Corporation district to consider serving the community by applying for appointment as a member of the Board of School Trustees.
According to Board Policy 0142.3, the Board has 30 calendar days to make a provisional appointment to fill the remainder of Dr. Mullendore’s term, which expires on December 31, 2014. The remaining Board members shall by a majority vote fill the vacancy by appointing a person from within the boundaries of the school corporation. An individual must possess the qualifications provided for a regularly elected or appointed governing body member filling the office.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest stating their qualifications and their reason for wishing to serve on the Board no later than 4:30 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Interviews will be held at a Special Board Meeting on February 28, 2013 at 7:00 PM. This meeting will be open to the public. In the event additional interview dates are needed, they will be scheduled during the first week of March.
The Board anticipates appointing a replacement on March 7, 2013. The new Board member would begin his/her term immediately.
