There’s a lot of wedding advice floating around the Internet. But the real question is how do you choose the right advice? How do you plan this crazy monumental party while enjoying the fun of getting married? Sure, there are a lot of useful tools online, but chances are you’re going to be using multiple websites and different vendors, and family and friends are going to have their opinions along the way. It can get confusing and stressful. How do new couples organize?

1471123254___CristinasHeadshotThat is what Cristina Goebel and her husband, Matt, were questioning when they first got engaged. Excited to plan, they quickly got frustrated with how complicated everything was that goes into planning a wedding. “Most people have never planned a wedding before, so Matt was thinking there’s got to be something out there that can bring everything together.”

And that is how PlanTheDay.com was born. Cristina and Matt, the founders of Plan The Day, created a collaborative planning tool that helps new couples plan their weddings. This tool makes everything easier by bringing everyone involved in the wedding into a centralized platform. Cristina explained that unlike other websites where each one has a specific purpose, Plan The Day brings it all to one space. Photographers, food vendors and family members can all be invited in, so everyone can see the details you choose to share. Less confusion, more collaboration.

So they had an idea, got married and started researching soon after. “We knew we had something good when Matt showed people what he created,” Cristina explained. Plan The Day first existed on a big Excel sheet, and they showed wedding professionals what they had created. “They were saying that they wanted this for their process, and this was before the website was even created!” she said.

Matt’s background as an IT professional and Cristina as a former Colts cheerleader and event management professional combined their skills and took the leap to open their own business. Cristina left her job to really give this business a shot. “I couldn’t imagine I’d ever be an owner of my own business, and it’s challenging, but I love every second,” she said. “Seeing more women also going into business makes me feel empowered and supported,” she beamed.

Plan The Day has been in business since 2014, and Cristina has learned a lot when it comes to weddings. New couples, listen up! Here are five of the most important tips from a tried and true professional.

1. Enjoy being engaged!

Give yourself time to have fun. Enjoy the moment before you start planning. You have time!

2. Create a budget and a guest list first.

A budget determines everything. It determines the venue size, food price and how many people to invite, so create a budget and stick to it.

3. Choose a venue

If you can be flexible on the date, then you’ll have more options for the wedding venues in Flagstaff you want, and you’ll be guaranteed to have a venue you love.

4. Organize!

Whether it’s a binder or online, keep everything together. Fortunately, Plan The Day helps a lot with this!

5. Ask for help.

Don’t be afraid to use your bridal party. You chose them for a reason.  Even if it is researching DJs for you to pick from, letting someone help will make everything less stressful!

There is a new app for IOS coming soon, so users can access Plan The Day anytime. Also keeping on theme with their current idea, they plan to launch wedding websites for couples. “Couples used to have to go somewhere else for that, and now that’s one less thing to worry about,” Cristina explained.

And that’s been the mantra when Cristina talks about Plan The Day – less stress. With this platform that continues to make communication easier and planning more fun, couples can enjoy getting married and spend more time together. Or as Cristina likes to say, “Less stress, more kisses!”

Plan The Day is a national business but is located in the heart of Broad Ripple. Check out PlanTheDay.com to see everything it has to offer.
