As a Broad Ripple resident, I’ve driven down Kessler Drive countless times. I’ve always been curious about the large, historic, stately home at 1215 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, about two blocks east of the Monon Trail. The property sat vacant from 2013 until recently when Glenn Bill purchased it and moved in with his wife, Colleen.

The home has a rich history that dates to the late 1800s and is just as intriguing as its new owner.

Bill knows Broad Ripple well. Both he and Colleen grew up in the Broad Ripple area. Bill currently owns the Glenn Bill Group, a Century 21 Sheetz Company. He is sincerely thankful for the seven amazing people on his team who work with him to build a successful organization.

Bill started his real estate career in Broad Ripple at the age of 19.

After three years of becoming a top salesperson, he purchased his own franchise at the age of 23. Over the next 15 years, that company grew to 150 agents, three offices and earned more than $9 million in revenue.

Bill sold the company at the age of 37. When cleaning out his office, he realized he had saved all the notes from the sales meetings that built and grew the company. He used these notes to create a training system for realtors, which is now used all over America. He is currently working on turning this system into a book. It is in the final stage of edits and he is looking forward to its release in August. It just may be his 2nd international bestseller.

Yes, that’s right, Bill already has one international best-selling book,The ABC’s of Attitude: Discover Your Secret Formula to Achieve Success in Your Personal and Business Life, Increase Your Emotional Intelligence and GET ATTITUDE!

He wrote the book after selling his franchise as a way to share his personal model for success. Relationship building skills, incredible mentors and, most importantly, a positive attitude are the keys to success, Bill says.

“Attitude is the way you dedicate yourself to the way you think,” he adds. “I believe a lot of emotion is involved with attitude. That ignites action. Attitude is the process of thought and emotion.”

The ABC’s of Attitude teaches one how to get rid of a bad attitude and offers tools to change that attitude and move through life positively and successfully.

Bill is also an engaging public speaker. A favorite topic of his is getting an attitude to live in a proactive state — make things better now.

Because of his love of attitude, Bill has created Global Attitude Awareness Day on April 15. He is inviting everyone to take one of these three pledges to unify and build our communities by changing our attitudes:

  1. Attitude Walk: Change your state and move your body to positively change your attitude.
  2. Attitude of Gratitude: Show gratitude to someone you appreciate to positively change your attitude.
  3. Attitude of Volunteering: Help someone to positively change your attitude.

As I talked with Bill and saw his passion for a positive attitude, I realized that a good attitude produces a kind spirit. It seems that new ways of thinking to help a person reassemble themselves and emotional intelligence and positivity is an energizing way to do this.

The phrase, “living legend”, is a good way to describe Bill. A living legend is a person who is famous while still living for doing something extremely well.

That pretty much sums up Glenn Bill — a living legend.
