My husband is an amazing dad to our four young kids despite a back injury and other injuries he sustained during his time in the army. Even though he is medically retired, he shows his dedication to our family by working six days a week. He pushes through his injuries and six-day work weeks to be an active dad and spend quality time with each of them. He sacrifices so much for our family — both while he was in the army and now.
Randy Bauer
Nominated by Shelby Bauer, who says:
Randy is the dad to me and my sister, Samantha, who has Rett Syndrome. She is unable to walk or talk and is 100 percent dependent on others for all of her care. In September of 2015, my grandmother passed away suddenly, leaving my mom and dad to care for my two uncles who are blind and deaf, and have intellectual disabilities. My parents had to make the decision for my dad to quit his job to handle the new responsibilities. With my mom working full-time, my dad has been the primary caregiver for my uncles and my sister. He has done an amazing job. He has more than stepped up to the plate. Seven days a week he has to provide care for my sister and my uncles in some way, sacrificing so much. He also always makes time for my mom and me, even in the midst of all of his other responsibilities. He shows his love for God through his service for others. I appreciate him so much.
